After a deadly bombing which killed thousands during a peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara, the government is looking into who is responsible for this. There are two suspects, the Sunni militants of the Islamic State and the rebels of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or P.K.K but none have been identified yet. The main victims of these two bombings were the Kurds, who are considered a minority in Turkey.
This is not a way for anyone to live, with minorities and majorities, attacking each other and fighting for power. We see this all around the world. It is manifested in different ways, but it’s there and it has to end. This world is big enough for all of us but sometimes I feel like everyone should go pack to kindergarten and learn how to share and if they don’t, they have to go sit in the corner and think about what they did.
Just because people are different that doesn’t mean you are better. It doesn’t give you the right to end their lives. None of us have that right, and that’s one of the things that makes us equal.
I cannot say this enough, but I do not like this, and I know this isn’t the first time or place this has happened, but it just hurts more every time a see this.
I am very sad for the people of Turkey who lost loved ones and friends to this.
And I just want to imagine a better world, hoping it can happen.
