One day ago, in a galaxy near us, I went to the movies to watch the long awaited seventh chapter of the Star Wars franchise; Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This movie does not only continue the story told in the original movies, which fans were waiting to hear more of, but featured some of the original characters and actors. This puts a continuation to a story that most people have seen. This is a great treat, not only for those who saw the originals when they first came out, but for those of us who were raised watching them.
I thought I should have watched these three original movies again, I didn’t think I would remember anything, because I hadn’t seen them in so long, but surprisingly enough, I did. I remembered so much more than I thought I would. I won’t give any details about what I remembered because I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I understood everything.

This was a great moment, when I realized that I didn’t delete everything. Some memories are still there; those memories are in my head, I just need to find a way to get them back, just like I got these memories back. At least this can happen with old memories, those that I’ve had for years, because those are the first to come back. It’s easy to get those older ones back.

I don’t know how anything in the brain works, I’m not a neurologist so don’t quote me on any of this, or judge me if I’m totally wrong, but I think that my older memories are still there and are easy to recall. Since they have been there all my life, they’re kept safe somewhere in the back of my mind and the brutal hit on my head didn’t affect them,  or maybe because they’re so dear to me they were protected from the hit? If I’m wrong I apologize, if I’m right, please let me know so I can celebrate.

But going back to Star Wars, I grew up watching these movies, I don’t know how many times I’ve seen them, but I know it’s been too many to count or for me to forget. I know that if I could find this and remember; there have to be a lot of other things that are still there being kept safe. I just need one or two hints for them to come forward.

All my memories are there, just waiting for me to let them come back. I have to keep exercising my mind to keep it working, keep looking for memories and living to the fullest to create new ones.

I have not lost hope, and The Force will help me find them.
