I know what everyone is thinking, but I have family in New Jersey so on day six of our vacation we went to Penn Station and got on the train to New Jersey for the weekend. It was a quiet trip, there weren’t a lot of people on it when we got on, and pretty short. It was just a little bit over an hour long until our stop. When we got there, we met with my aunt who was picking us up and my cousin who was going home for the weekend.

It was a very big change of pace between New Jersey and New York City; there was no noice, no crowds, no busses. I felt a little too relaxed. I’m nos used to that because Puerto Rico is not that quiet either, at least not where I live; but it was nice to get a little rest during my vacation. I was happy to get to see and spend time with my aunt, uncle and cousins.

On our second day there we went to October Fest at Smithville, a small town we usually go to when we visit with very cute stores. It’s usually very quiet but this time, because it was Octoberfest, it was very crowded and kind of felt a little like New York. Out side the stores there were a lot of vendors selling everything you can imagine.

After that we algo went to Target. I didn’t find any good Targets in the city so I’m glad we found a good one in Jersey.

Our last day in New Jersey was also a pretty relaxing one, we drove to Newark where we got on a very short train ride back to Manhattan. This time the train was nothing like the first time we took it; it was full and it wasn’t easy to find seats, but we should have expected it would be full going back into the city.

We had a good, quiet time in New Jersey, where we rested so we were ready to enjoy the last few days of our vacation.
