After spending a quiet and relaxing month of September, yesterday I welcomed October by signing up for a race at the end of the month. This will be my second race in October, I had already signed up for a 10k in the 10k Challenge in a little over two weeks. That was going to be my only race in October; still wanted to take it easy after the 16 miles, but I couldn’t resist signing up for this race again.
I signed up for the CPS 5k for the third time, and I’m hoping this time I can improve my time again like I did last year. I didn’t beat my personal record in a 5k, but I saw improvement from the first time I did this race. I haven’t done many 5k races this year, they’ve mostly been 10k, my training is usually three miles or more so I hope this helps.
After this one, I don’t think I’ll sign up for anything in November, due to a long overdue family trip we’re going on at the end of October to mid November. I’m very excited for this, we’re finally going to Europe and exploring so many places I’ve always wanted to go to or go again after so many years.
When I was there last time, I remember going running around Madrid in the morning. Back then, I didn’t have a coach or even running shoes, but I still went out running. This time, I do have a coach to tell me what to do, so I will try to take my running clothes and shoes with me and try to run in the cities or towns we visit, if I have time.
If this isn’t possible, at least I know we are going to be walking a lot.
