Today, before finishing my Mother’s Day shopping, had an appointment with the optometrist. I had no idea but the last time I had my eyes checked was two years ago. In my defense, with so many doctor’s appointments, it’s hard to keep track of that.
I wasn’t seeing things that clearly but I thought that was just because the lenses were old and those last ones were broken. I thought that I might be a little blind but I really noticed during my eye test when the doctor made me look at the letters on the poster that was on the other side of the room.
When she started switching the lenses she used for me to look at the poster I really saw a difference. Everything looked brighter, like it had more color; I really don’t know why the first change I noticed was the color an not the fact that I could actually read the letters.
Old
New
If my prescription changed that much, I think getting checked while I’m in the process of learning how to drive again was a very good thing. I think this is going to help me a lot when I’m learning how to drive.
I had to do this a long time ago but it’s better later than never and at least I haven’t even taken the car out of the parking lot. Maybe having new eyes will help me be more secure while driving, which is something that I really need.
We’ll see how it goes tomorrow with those extra lenses she gave me to use until the new ones come.
