A year ago today my life changed. I tried something I had been insisted to do for years but was always afraid to do. I believed I would never give in to people’s nagging that I should try it, but I did and my life has been so much better since this day.
This was the day I had mofongo, and I can’t believe it has only been one year. The first one I tried was mofongo filled with stewed beef (ropa vieja). Since then I have tried mofongo filled with a lot of other things like shrimp, skirt steak (churrasco), salmorejo de jueyes, fish, and chicken. Mofongo filled with stewed beef it still my favorite. This has been a life changing decision that I do not regret and I am very happy to have made, I mean, it has won two posts in my blog and even though I am a #foodie, I don’t remember dedicating two posts for any other meal. This is a huge honor for mofongo, I don’t think cheeseburgers, rice or chocolate have gotten any or more than one post and I love cheeseburgers, rice and chocolate.
I didn’t even write about the day I went from eating milk chocolate to dark chocolate, which was not as painful as I thought it would be, but I think I should have said something because chocolate has been a huge part of my life. It is my favorite flavor of ice cream and cake, and it just makes milk better than it already is.
Oh and I didn’t say anything the day I had a fish burger. It was a little confusing, it had cheese but no beef or ketchup. The bread was also falling apart, I don’t know what was up with that but I don’t think it had anything to do with the lack of beef.
I guess I didn’t feel the urge or need to write about those other two because they were not as life changing or good as mofongo. The chocolate is still good, a little bit harder but apart from that it’s still chocolate. As for the fish burger, the fish was ok, but they lost me when the bread started falling apart. Nothing as good as a real burger with beef, cheese, ketchup, and bread that doesn’t fall apart.
