I’m very happy to say the year is starting off well for me; only nine days into the year I got a new job. I was a very surprised when I received a call for my employer just minutes after my interview, I immediately thought something was wrong. It was the complete opposite, he told me that he thought he should cancel the rest of the interviews, the job was mine if I wanted it. I immediately said yes and I started my new job the next day.
I have a big responsibility because I am the company’s receptionist, so I’m the first person they see when they walk through the door and the first person they talk to when they call. I have to make a good first impression. To make sure I say the right thing when I pick up the phone I quickly say the greeting I’ll give the client to myself. I was afraid I would get really confused and choke up a lot, but I’m surprised to say that hasn’t happened. Well, I messed up the company’s name once, but only once in the first three days is not that bad.
I’m still learning about all my responsibilities, I still have someone teaching me but I feel like I’m learning pretty quickly. My co-workers have all been very nice, welcoming and have made me feel comfortable, so it’s very clear to see it’s a good place to work so I’m looking forward to what this new job has to offer.

I’m an aspiring writer still looking for exactly what I want to write about, with a lot of creativity, imagination and desire to write.
I studied Writing and Rhetoric at Syracuse University where I explored many different sides of writing through my classes and extracurricular activities in order to narrow my search for an identity as a writer.
I have written for Citrus TV Noticias and La Voz magazine, both of which gave me the chance to explore different mediums in which to write in. Through Citrus TV Noticias I also gained experience in translating from English to Spanish and vice versa, which is also something that I would be interested in working on since I am fluent in both of these languages. I was also an intern at Syracuse University Press where I got hands on experience in what goes into actually editing and publishing a book.
Through out the last four years I have faced a lot of challenges, which helped chape the person I am today. After being in a tragic car accident, being in comma, having a Traumatic Brain Injury, and being in therapy for over a year, I am a new me, willing to face challenges and knowing how to deal with them. I want to write about my accident and life after it to help others, show them it can be done and help in any way I can.
