Yesterday I signed up for El Guatibiri del Otoao, another 10k race. This means I am now signed up for four races in the next three months. The first two, in February and March don’t worry me at all as they are both 5k races and I did both of those last year; I just hope to improve my time.

The other two worry me a little, especially the last one I signed up for because they are both in April, only two weeks apart and they are both 10k races. I have run 10k races before, even two races the same month but, never two 10k races the same month. They are both part of the 10k Challenge I’m trying to do so I can’t complain because I knew what it would take to complete this.

I got reactions from people before making my decision but they were a little confusing. I was told by other runners to stop doubting myself, I can do it; but I was also told by non runners that I’m crazy to do both in a month if I still have another year to complete the challenge. Waiting a year is the easier option but why wait if I can do it now? Who knows what’s going to happen next year.

I already told my coach about all four races so I expect my training to become a little harder soon, especially as we get closer to April. I just need to remember to do my best but still have fun and enjoy the process.

I already signed up so it’s too late to question my decision now.
