I was hoping this weekend would be a sunny one, I wanted to run and later go to the beach to celebrate my 35th birthday.

Yesterday, I woke up hoping I would be so lucky and I went for my run. It was a little cloudy but the weather app on my phone said it wouldn’t rain until the afternoon so I decided to trust it. Everything was going well, I was more than halfway done with my five mile run and on my way back, when I started to feel the rain drops. At first, the rain is nice because it’s refreshing, then it’s motivating because you want to run faster to get to the end to seek cover.

I usually listen to music when I run by myself, but the great thing about that was that while I was running, the song would suddenly get interrupted by friends and family texting me happy birthday. It’s very funny when you hear Siri reading a message from Puertorricans with a Spanish accent.

Even though the rain didn’t let me have the birthday weekend I pictured, I really enjoyed it. I always love hearing from my friends, family and coworkers, from  those who are close, as well as those who are far away.

Thanks to everyone for your birthday wishes!
