I don’t usually make plans on Sunday night, I like getting enough sleep and waking up in time to go to work on Monday, but I was forced to make an exception last night because I had the chance to see Maroon 5 in concert.

I was very excited when they first announced they were coming back to Puerto Rico. I had already missed them twice; the first time because I couldn’t afford it and the second because they canceled the concert at the last minute

This time, I almost missed out too, until someone in the running group offered to sell her tickets. This was like someone was telling me you have to go; I knew I would regret it later if I didn’t do anything so I bought the tickets. I was still worried about being too tired at work the next day, but I couldn’t miss them again.

Once my sister in law and I got to the concert last night and the band hit the stage, all my worries went away. I spent the next two hours standing, singing at the top of my lungs and screaming as I heard the songs that I have been listening to since middle school. They were also there during my recovery and to this day, I listen to them on my runs. Some songs are better for slow runs, others are better when I need to try to pick up some speed, but they’re always there.

That concert was a well earned gift from me to me and my sister in law and I’m glad I got to share something that meant so much to me with her.
