This morning I read an article about how there are no health benefits from drinking soda. I have heard things like this before but not like this. It does nothing good for you, but has a lot of negative aspects.
I started drinking up to 2 a day since my doctor told me I had to cut down and not drink soda after 6 p.m. This was not easy but I felt forced not to fight this. It took some time but I understood the reason. I have to sleep at least 8 hours every night to try to prevent seizures. My doctors also told me that I couldn’t drink more than two.
I followed these rules pretty religiously, except for having a soda after 6:00 p.m. when I would go to sleep after 11:00, p.m., then I would have a soda no later than at 7:00 p.m. When this happened I would sometimes have 3.
However, when I read that article this morning, it finally hit me, this has to stop. I am strong enough to stop this. I know I am. Right there I decided, I will stop drinking soda. I put my foot down. I will stop drinking soda.
I have been telling my friends and family about my decision. I announced it on Facebook, and now I am saying it on my blog. I hope that letting so many people know, even if they don’t see it or remember, helps. I think just the thought that I told so many people will help me do this.
I wrote a note on my phone to mark the day I made this promise, it’s on Facebook, and it’s on my blog. I really want to do this. I don’t know if I can stop this life long adiction, but I do think that writing all of this on my cellphone, while I’m in the car, without getting dizzy, means I am serious about this.
Also, I invite all of you who have thought of doing the same, or quit any other bad habbit that is not good for you, to go ahead and join me. We can do this.
