Last night,iHeartMedia and FOX hosted a concert with the biggest names in music in my television. That’s right, me and my family as well as anyone else who wanted to watch from their TV, computer, tablet, or telephone, had a front row seat to watch Elton John host the show from his house.
We saw Alicia Keys singing and playing piano from her living room, all five Backstreet Boys sing I Want it that Way from their homes across the country, as well as Dave Grohl from The Foo Fighters, Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendez and Camila Cabello, Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, Tim McGraw and his band all in remote locations, H.E.R. and finally Mariah Carey.
Other stars like Lady Gaga, Ellen Degeneres, Demi Lovato, Ciara and Russell Wilson, Lizzo, Melissa McCarty and Ben Falcone, Ken Jeong and Ryan Seacrest also shared messages thanking doctors and nurses, first responders and those who have made donations to charities. They also encouraged fans to keep social distance, stay safe and to do whatever they can to keep their mental health and to communicate with friends and family.
This event encouraged viewers to support Feeding America and First RespondersChildren’s Association. In addition to raising money this event helped to raise spirits for everyone watching. We all needed that, to watch people coming together for the same cause, no matter where they are. They helped us get away from the news and feel together and share good music even if we were all quarantined in our houses.
Thank you iHeatMedia, Fox and everyone who came together to bring this concert to our living rooms. It was a positive distraction from this tragedy we are living right now.
