I thought that by July this should all be under control, I mean, we have been living with this huge mess for over four months now. We should have our act together by now, but no, it’s just getting worse. People just want to go “back to normal“ but WE CAN’T. That is not normal anymore, at least not right now, masks and distance are normal now.

Our old normal will kill us all right now so we have to make a new normal and get used to it. Getting used to it is not that difficult, I couldn’t get used to the mask when I started working but barely notice it anymore and forget to take it off (and I like that I barely use makeup anymore, just on the eyes). I’m not saying I like it or that I haven’t forgotten to put it on a couple of times, because I don’t and I have, but I’m working on that, we are all making sacrifices and you have to weigh the good with the bad. It’s like that meme that’s been going around, “If you don’t like wearing a mask, you’re not going to like the ventilator. Do you want those 10 selfies with no social distance or masks with your family or friends to be your or their last?

I don’t mean to sound tragic or morbid or even like I’m giving a speech, but that’s the world we’re living in right now, like it or not and we have to protect each other. You might have it and not know it, I might have it and not know it or that other person might have it and not know it.

So please, I’m asking you as a favor, for you, your family and friends and for me and my family and friends; wear the mask, keep the distance, stay home if you have to or if you don’t need to go out, don’t go to parties, stay informed and listen to healthcare specialists.

We all want this to end but it will only happen if we all do our part.
