I haven’t done a 5k in a very long time and with the pandemic I didn’t think there would be any anytime soon. Then I heard that some people from work were doing a virtual 5k.

In my head this meant walking in front of your computer for three miles, but that’s not the only way. You just have to walk or run 3 miles or 7,000 steps in a treadmill, around your house or wherever and keep track of it on whatever app you want that measure time and distance.

The great part about this it doesn’t have to be done in one day, you have 10 days to do it. As long as you finish the seven miles by the tenth day, you’re good. And also post a picture on social m showing the distance you walked.

So I signed up today and will be doing the 5k socially distant with 5 other people from work in about 3 weeks. I want to finish the whole thing in one day but don’t know how fast I will be able to finish it. If we’re starting early in the morning so I hope we’re done by lunch.

This virtual 5k is already giving me more motivation to keep exercising at home so I don’t get left behind.
