Today I decided to start getting ready for the 5k I signed up for last week. This means walking for a lot longer than just thirty minutes which is what I usually do.
It took me 113 minutes to walk 3.33 miles on the treadmill. That’s too much; last time I did a 5k I completed it in less than an hour. I know I will never be able to do it in ten minutes, I can’t run that much or that fast but I want to be able to do it in at least an hour.
To reach this goal will mean walking for more than 30 minutes a day and maybe also running. I haven’t done a lot of running since I stopped going to the gym so I should get started on that.
I’m not going to push myself too much, I know my limits but I have to try to make better time. Maybe this helps me get in better shape and even get me to start walking more everyday, at least more than 30 minutes.
