Today’s New Year’s celebration is going to be a little different than it has been for the last 9 or 10 years. Every year I go with my family to the beach and celebrate the new year at the beach house in the other side of Puerto Rico. This year however,we can’t celebrate together, so we can’t go.
Our tradition of going to the beach on Christmas Eve wasn’t totally changed, we technically did go to the beach. I say technically because we didn’t go in the water, we just went for a walk by the beach. It didn’t matter that we are not allowed to go in the water because it’s not safe right now.

However, it was a very nice day for a walk. The sun was shining but it didn’t feel hot because there was a very strong breeze that made it difficult to walk when we walked against it but pushed me on the way back. This walk was three miles long.

The best part of the walk was after when I got a Piña Colada and Bacalaito (cod fritter) when we were done. We even found a place that had a drive thru service to sell fried food.

Then I completed my routine of exercise. I can’t stop just because it’s the last day of the year and tomorrow I also have to keep going if I want to continue during the new year.

We are all anxiously waiting for 2021 and want it to be better than 2020. I’m hoping that it will be but it’s going to take every one of us to make it better. We need to start with the vaccine but we can’t stop there, wear your masks, stay home and avoid crowds as much as you can. Let’s stay safe and help keep everyone else safe too.
Stay safe tonight, please don’t explode pyrotechnics and have a Happy New Year!
*I almost forgot , I finished the first course of the Social Media Marketing Professional Specialization for a Digital Marketing Associate Certification. I wanted to finish it before the new year and I did!
