Tonight I made an impromptu decision to get the flu vaccine while I was getting the refill of a medication at the pharmacy. When I asked about the flu vaccine, the pharmacist asked if I also wanted to get the updated Covid19 booster.

This is a new booster that was recently approved by the FDA and targets the Omnicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5. The CDC recommends the Pfizer-BioNTech updated booster for people 12 years old and older and the Moderna updated booster for people 18 years and older.

The arm where I got both shots, the updated booster and the flu vaccine, barely hurts now. The arm usually hurts more right after I get the vaccine. I hope that means it won’t hurt tomorrow either because I have to go to work. but I have all morning to rest it does bother me. If I take it easy in the morning, I think I’m going to be alright by the time I go to work, but the important thing is that I got the vaccines before it was too late.
