This is the second Saturday I wake up at 7 am to go running. I don’t believe you should wake up before 8 am on a Saturday unless you have a very good reason, but going running in the morning when it’s less hot and there’s not that many people at the track has become a very good reason for me.

I feel better when I’m practicing now than I was a month ago when I started, but don’t know if I’m running any faster. It takes me more or less the same time on Saturday morning after waking up as it does at night, after work. I have a lot more energy when I’m rested on Saturday morning than I do on weeknights after work. However, it is a lot easier to run at night, when it doesn’t feel so hot and the sun isn’t shining in your face.

Just like working out before work, running on Saturday morning is a good way to start the day. I got a lot done today and I didn’t have any plans in the morning. From grocery shopping, getting both, the flu shot and latest Covid vaccine, to going to the mall.

And the best part is that there’s still another day left in the weekend!
