You know how we have to do this science fair projects every year? Most of them don’t lead to anything, but once in a while there is one student who makes a discovery so great that scientists haven’t even thought of already, like scientists with masters and doctorates haven’t figured that out.

Everybody needs to see the discovery a seventeen-year old girl made, winning  the top prize in the Regeneuron Science Talent Search. She figured out “how to keep neurons alive after an injury”. This hasn’t been tested in humans yet, just on mouse neurons, but if it does work and our neurons can survive, it will be a really big step on the treatment of Brain Injuries.
