I did it again, I finished another challenge! This is the third Apple Fitness Challenge I have completed this year and I really enjoyed this one. Well, I have enjoyed all of them. These workouts are great motivation for working out and it helps in not making it so monotonous. Every month I get to start something new and I finish it before it starts getting boring. And I love the feeling I get when I complete them.
Through this challenge I also learned I don’t have to do just one video every day. I have done up to three different videos on some days and have been doing more strength training, which I wasn’t doing that much of, only once or twice a week. I focused more on cardio because I thought that was the important one, but after reading a little, I realized they are both important.
Cardiovascular exercise promotes heart and lung health and reduces the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer. Strength training boosts your metabolism by building lean muscle mass, preventing obesity and limiting bone loss. I used to think strength was just for big muscles and I just needed cardio but I was very wrong.
So now, thanks to this challenge, which had shorter videos and gave me time to do others, I’m trying to do a cardio video, a strength video and also a Core Video. I have been doing since core videos since I did the 30 Day Core Challenge in January.
I think the challenge in May will be kickboxing.
