After I got the EEG placed (glued) on my head yesterday, I was able to come home where I had to avoid sweating or getting any water on the electrodes in my head. Water makes the image blurry when they are reading the result. Not sweating in Puerto Rico means being in air conditioning and that was a sacrifice I was more than willing to take.
If I was going to be inside without being able to do much because I also had to carry around the machine that reads the electrodes I decided to take advantage of this situation. I got my computer and got right back to working on my book. Now I had the time to go back and look through my old memories and add them to old chapters and also refreshed my memory a little. It was a great feeling being able to spend so much time working on that again and really gave me the push to continue.
I didn’t notice how long I was writing until I looked at the log I was supposed to keep while I was getting the EEG. There is a long time that it looks like I wasn’t doing anything, but I was writing. I wonder what that looks like when they read the results.
Writing may not seem like a huge effort and I was scared I wasn’t going to be able to sleep after sitting most of the day. Usually, I sit most of the day at work, but when I leave I either go for a run or workout so I get at least 40 minutes of exercise. The most exercise I got yesterday was going up and down 6 flights of stairs at the doctor’s office.

That and writing must have really tired me out because I got a full night’s sleep last night and was up and ready in time to get those electrodes out of my head. When it was over I picked up my number for my second race this month, the Colegio San Gabriel 10k, on Sunday.

Now that it’s over, all I can do is keep running and writing and wait until my appointment in about a month and hope the results show no increased changes in my brain activity. I don’t want this to get out of control again and the focus now is 12 years seizure free.
