I know I have not been as loyal to my blog as I usually am, I don’t want to make any excuses because I do miss writing and updating my blog, there just isn’t enough time in a day. But there is something that’s been on my mind, it’s happened twice and I’m really not sure what’s going on.
One night, two weeks ago, when we were walking our dogs I told my stepdad to take Sandy’s leach, except I didn’t say Sandy. I don’t know what was going on in my brain that I said “take Pottery Barn”. Then both my parents stopped walking, “what did you say”? I repeated take… her, the dog”; I tried to say her name but it wouldn’t come for a few seconds. I closed my eyes, calmed down because I was starting to get scared too, “Sandy, take Sandy”. I calmed down, they calmed down, and Jose walked the dogs the rest of the way home.
I was scared that it might mean a seizure was coming, and I was nervous for the next hour, until it was 8:00 and I took my anti seizure medicine. I didn’t think much of that after, until it happened again last Monday.
My mom and I were spending the day with my aunt at her house. I was sitting by the pool talking to them when I thought I said “I’m going inside to get a Diet Coke”, but I really said “I’m going inside to get a cheese stick”. I started to walk when I heard them say “what are you getting”? “The…cup…drink…soda… Diet Coke.”
When I was looking for the words I realized I had done it again, but this time I wasn’t so scared because nothing happened the first time. I still looked it up but didn’t find anything too scary, although some places said it could mean a stroke, but there were also a million other reasons. Friends also told us about that happening a few times to other people we know and then it just stopped.
I’m worried because it could be some type of seizure or maybe have something to do with the Brain Injury, but maybe it’s neither. It could be just something that happened, maybe it was just to hot, maybe I was just dehydrated. I don’t know if it has anything to do with that but I have had headaches that are just dehydration, who know what else dehydration can do to you.
I just have to wait and see what my neurologist thinks.
