Love running in the sand

This morning I went running at the beach for the third weekend in a row. I thought maybe today would be difficult because I was tired but it was better than the last two times, or maybe ever?

I started running pretty close to where we had our stuff, near the parking lot, I thought I would want to take a break within a few minutes but I just started telling myself to keep running until I made it to the next hotel or building. I kept saying that but when I got to each checkpoint I didn’t stop running and before I knew it I was at the end of the beach. I could have kept running but I had nowhere else to run.

That took me about 11 minutes and was able to finish one mile in 13 minutes. That’s amazing for me because I usually just run for three minutes, maybe four and have to take a break and it was really hot today. Maybe it was all the distractions I had, maybe it was just being out side, listening to the waves, or maybe it was just running in the sand. I like running in the sand a lot more than a treadmill or pavement.

Running back was a little more difficult and I hade to take a few breaks along the way so it took me a little longer to complete the second mile. I was a little tired from the first eleven minutes, but that didn’t stop me from going a little bit further down the beach from where all our stuff was to complete the 30 minutes.

After that I was ready to jump in the water, cool off and just relax for a while. The beach is the best place to do that.
