I’m trying to continue to try and complete a new challenge on Apple fitness every month. This will be my third after completing the 30 day Core Challenge in January and February and the 14 day HIIT and Strength Challenge in March. I wanted to start this month’s challenge early so I began today, on the second day of the month.

This time I’m doing the 4-Week Cardio Boost with HIIT. This doesn’t mean I have to do a HIIT workout everyday, it is only three days a week. Most of them are just 10 minutes and some are 20 minutes.

Being shorter videos than the 30 minute long HIIT videos I usually do once a week does not mean it will be easy. Just this morning, as I started the challenge, the 10 minute video was challenging. It only included two moves, jumping jacks and lateral jumps, done in intervals starting at 40 seconds. By the second or third time you do those moves you already know what to do and every time you do it faster and with more intensity. At the end of those 10 minutes I had already burned 53 calories.

The second workout I did to complete 30 minutes of exercise this morning was a 20 minute Core Video. This may sound easy but it’s not with moves like beast, side-plank and crunches done more than once.

I’m excited to see how it goes doing three HIIT workouts a week plus my usual other workouts. The challenge I did in March included a lot too but in addition to that was only strength and core I’m curious to see how more HIIT goes with Kickboxing, Pilates and Yoga.
