Just like I did in April, I decided to start my monthly Challenge early again. I began the Bring Out Your Inner Champion with Kickboxing Challenge this past Monday, May 6.
This challenge only has 12 videos, divided into three groups of four. The videos in Group 1 are ten minutes long , 20 minutes long in Group 2 and ending with 30 minutes in Group 3. With this challenge I get the cardio part of my daily workout done and only have to worry about finding what strength and core videos to do.
So far it has been pretty easy because, while I’m not used to doing more than one kickboxing video a week, the first week is the 10 minute video as we get used to it. However, even while all the videos add up to just 30 minutes long, I do end up very tired, because all these workouts require speed, strength, concentration and coordination. That’s a lot to focus on for 30 minutes or longer.
Even while my workouts are sometimes only 30 minutes long, I do need to remember to take at least one day to rest. There are many different suggestions of how many rest days are necessary but it all depends on the person and what type of workout you do but the sufrís 48 to 72 hours. For me, it all depends on the week, how tired I am and how much time I have, but I try to get at least one or two rest days.
So far, doing cardio, core and strength training every day seems to be working for me. I like it, I like that I have a huge variety of videos to choose from and this wakes me up and gives me energy to start the day and gets my mind working just thinking about what I have to do next
