Now I understand better what happened. I know I hit my head, but I didn’t really understand what happened and why it was called a Traumatic Brain Injury. I thought it meant that it was so scary that I would be, or should be traumatized. But apart from being extra careful when crossing the street, and being nervous with cars around people, I don’t think I’m traumatized.

After reading more about it, I learned that a TBI is caused by an external force like getting hit by a car or falling, also known as a closed head injury. It is not named after what was going on in my mind after I woke up, but by my head being stuck by an external object.

This is why I should not ride roller coasters, and why I have to be careful not to hit my head.

I can cross the street now, thanks to Understanding TBI.
