Yesterday I gave running at the beach another shot. I went in the morning again so the sun wasn’t that bad but it didn’t rain this time so it was hot. It was also very different because it wasn’t the same beach. This beach has suffered a lot more erosion so I either had to run very close to the water where the sand was flat but my shoes would get wet when waves came, or higher up where the sand wasn’t so flat and it was dry.

Either way it was nice to be running outside again, even if I didn’t run the whole way, it was still very nice. I got a little bit of sunshine, fresh air and it was a great distraction. I also got one more workout this week, making it six workouts this week, instead of my usual five.

Getting up on Saturday to run feels great, I feel very accomplished after I’m done. Just the fact that I’m putting in little bit more work for my wellness and a little bit of distraction is worth going out earlier than I usually did on Saturday.

Even though I did more walking than running yesterday than I did last Saturday, I still tried again and had fun doing it. Not all Saturdays will be the same, some days I will be more tired than others and some days will be more hot, windy, sunny or rainy than others. My hope is just to try my best when I do go running, get stronger, faster and distract myself.

Next time I have to remember to bring another pair of shoes for after I run, even my socks had sand and got wet.
