I didn’t have any races this weekend, so I went back to my five mile Saturday run, which I hadn’t done in a while. I thought I was going to have a very hard time and it would take me a very long time to finish, since lately I have been a little slow and last week the first three miles in the race took me like 48 minutes. Regardless, I still had to do it, no matter how long it took.

It was very nice when I started to run, it wasn’t so hot yet and I felt good but after 2.5 miles, it didn’t feel that nice anymore. I used a trick I always use to help me run faster, trying to pass other runners, but today I used a few new ones like keep running until the song I was listening to was over even if it was time to walk and I ran faster when it started to rain. I don’t like running in the rain. Usually, when I’m almost done and I’m tired but it’s time to run, I just keep walking until the end. Today I only had a little more than.10 miles to run, I was tired, but I decided to run it.

I finished in one hour, 7 minutes and 48 seconds and I’m really happy because I’m pretty sure that’s the fastest I’ve finished a five mile run. It also felt great because I’m doing another 10k in two weeks and If I run like I did today, I may be able to finish close to an hour and 20 minutes or at least less than 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I’m not putting too much pressure on myself,I heard it’s a tough race, but I think I can do it.
