La La Land

I saw the trailer for a happy movie, a musical, a comedy, a romance, no violence, no killing, no war, the kind of movie that just gets you away from the real world, with Ryan Gosling. We have him in a musical, that is both comedy and romantic, do I need to say anything else? … Continue reading La La Land

For me, nothing is impossible

For some reason, it’s harder reading about my accident from someone else’s point of view, even though I’ve read the article and I know what happened but the more I read, talk and write about it, the easier it gets.

Only a few months after I got to Puerto Rico after my TBI, a journalist came to see my therapies one day. She witnessed what my day in therapy was like, talking to me, my mom, and my therapists.

This was my first chance to share my story with the world, or at least the island. It gave me the chance to be recognized, not by people who know someone who told them about me, but by someone who read the article. I felt so happy to be in the newspaper, even if I wasn’t writing. How many people get the chance to have two pages written about them in one of the most read newspapers in Puerto Rico? With pictures and everything? And then be recognized by people who read it? And hopefully made some difference in someone’s life?

It’s an honor to be told the newspaper want’s to…

I’m never letting go again

Today, we took our dogs for their daily walk, but we took a different route. Instead of starting next to the avenue, like we usually do,  we decided to walk next to the highway which is one street down from the avenue. As we were walking we realized that the sidewalk down there is not … Continue reading I’m never letting go again

What happens to our brain and skull when they move?

What happened within this player's skull I read this article a couple of days ago and I can't stop thinking about it. It gave me a better understanding of my brain injury and why they tell me I have to avoid any sudden movements of my head, like on a rollercoaster. For some reason I … Continue reading What happens to our brain and skull when they move?

More adventures for Indy and Sandy

We attended a puppy training seminar PetSmart was hosting today, with our two puppies. I don't mean to brag but everybody seems to agree that my puppies are adorable. I know people like puppies because they're so cute, but people really like my dogs; people kept stopping and petting my puppies at the store. They … Continue reading More adventures for Indy and Sandy
