I was not sure this day would come, but I made it! As of today, April 8, 2025, I have been seizure free for a decade! It’s a little unbelievable that it’s finally official, 10 whole years!
It’s still scary, but I made it to a decade and I’m so proud of myself! This deserves a celebration and I just happen to be in the middle of a vacation at the beach. Being at the beach feels like the perfect way to celebrate this big milestone.
I have been having a wonderful time and it’s not over yet, I still have one more beach day. I have already been to three beautiful beaches, one I had only heard of but hadn’t had the chance to visit, until Monday. It really did live up to my expectations, after all the great things I heard about it. I had already visited the other two many times and love going back every chance I get.

This week has been great because people won’t be on vacation until next week so it’s been quiet and calm and the weather has been perfect, sunny and very windy. We did have a long walk to one of the beaches, but it was worth it. I love that beach and it was empty so we had it all to ourselves.

Apart from enjoying the beautiful beaches, I had to find a new track to run in this week while I’m away from home. It’s just a vacation from work, not running. I got a few suggestions for tracks to run in the area close to where I’m staying. The first track I tried was a hit; it was quiet, easy to find, and I was able to jog for two miles without resting.

I don’t know if it was the time, the place, not having many other people around or what, but I usually don’t make it past two laps or about 8 minutes before I need to stop and walk. I have been able to run for one mile during races, but never two; that just seemed impossible for me, until yesterday.
Now I see that I needed this vacation, and even though we are still keeping up with the stressful news, being in a calm place and not having to think about work helps a lot. I hope I can enjoy the rest of my vacation as much as I have these past three days.
