Keep calm and keep studying

I spent all day studying for my midterm.  I feel more confident than I did on Wednesday, but this has been the third day dedicated to studying.  I am putting all this effort into studying and I don't even know if it will be worth it, if I will be able to do well in … Continue reading Keep calm and keep studying

Now it’s official!

I made it! When the clock hit 8 last night and I took my medicines it was official, I made it 7 months seizure free. I was going to say it was my greatest achievement but that's not true, I think just waking up from a comma is my greatest achievement, and everything after that. … Continue reading Now it’s official!

I have been waiting all week for November 8th. If you remember, October 8 marked my 6 months seizure free, so November 8 marks 7 months seizure free. It won’t be official until tonight, but I’m pretty sure I will make it. If I haven’t had a seizure for 6 months, I don’t think I’ll have one in the next 10 hours and I will make it to exactly 7 months. I have been waiting all week for November 8 so I won’t wait a few hours to star celebrating. Today marks 7 months, today we celebrate.

7 MONTHS!!!!!!!!

Last month I said I got dizzy that night, but it was not just that night, I have been getting dizzy or light headed a lot since then. I feel better if I eat something, but I still think I should tell my doctors just in case. I don’t…

Four years ago, on a day like today, I created my first blog on WordPress.  That blog was for a class and it has led to a collection of four different blogs.  Only 2 of these were visible because the other 3 were created for classes.  Unstoppable Maria is the only one I currently share on … Continue reading 4 years, 4 blogs

Music therapy for epilepsy?

So, I had seen something about finding links between music and epilepsy.  I didn't really think much about it, but then I started reading about it.  Now it looks like they're really on to something. Apparently, music is perceived in the same place in the brain where seizures begin.  Through studies, neurologists have learned that … Continue reading Music therapy for epilepsy?

It’s the little things that make the difference

We always focus on the big things, not on that little moments leading up to that big moment. They can be just as great, or make that big moment more special because you saw all the work that was put into it. For example, being able to complete your degree, or ace a class. Enjoying … Continue reading It’s the little things that make the difference

I’m scared because everywhere I go I see Halloween decorations. This has never been my favorite time of year. I am not that brave when it comes to all this spooky stuff Halloween’s about. I don’t mind dressing up and I do not mind getting candy, if this candy is a chocolate. I just don’t … Continue reading It’s October and I’m afraid
