I don’t know whyI was having so much trouble looking for an new exercise program to do after a finished Insanity. It’s been almost a month since a finished and today I started what should have been the most obvious choice, Insanity: The Asylum. This program includes drills used by professional athletes. That’s exactly why … Continue reading Starting Insanity: The Asylum
After spending almost a month deciding what to do next, was almost sure I finally found it. This week I started Transform: 20, a 20 minute workout program that’s not like anything I’ve done before. This program is not like the others I’ve done with Beach Body because you need a step. It is optional, … Continue reading Next exercise program
I don’t think I had been able to take a break and relax for the last three days until this afternoon. First there was Thanksgiving on Thursday when, even though it was nice seeing family again after at least two years, it was still a lot being a co-host to the celebration. If waking up … Continue reading Intense Thanksgiving weekend
My brother just published his second book. I can’t say how proud or how happy I am for him. He’s not just a writer, he’s an author. His book, Mangle, is historical fiction set here in Puerto Rico during the Spanish colonization. He has spent years doing research about Puerto Rican history, the Taino Indians, … Continue reading My brother published his second book
I decided to take it easy for a week to recover from those intense nine weeks of Insanity so I’m doing Yoga this week. I might also start using the stationary bike but I’m still not sure, maybe I should just rest for the rest of the week. That was an intense program, even with … Continue reading Yoga recovery week
That’s it, I did it! I finished the 60 day Insanity program. I still can’t believe I did it and, as I’ve already said it, I didn’t think I would be able to do it but I had to try and I did it! I worked out six days a week for nine weeks from … Continue reading Insanity workouts: DONE!
I just got the Covid19 booster dose and the flu shot. I always prefer to get vaccines or blood drawn from my left arm. I know it’s an irrational fear but there’s something about the needle and the metal plate I have in my right arm that just makes me nervous. I just don’t want … Continue reading Got the Covid19 booster dose and the flu shot
I got great news this morning… That’s right, I got the job! I’m going to start working at Old Navy next week. I don’t know what else to say except I’m very happy, nervous, excited, ready to learn and see what this new adventure has to offer.
That’s right, just two weeks of Insanity. That’s s nothing, especially after you have already put in six weeks, seven if you count recovery week, but right now it feels like an eternity. That’s 17 workout videos in 13 days. There’s two ways of thinking about that: 1) Shit, that’s a lot! I can’t do … Continue reading This is it, last two weeks!
After a pretty intimidating first week of month two of the Insanity workouts, I have to say I’m a little relieved. I was afraid my knee would start bothering me again and maybe even hurt more but I don’t feel anything like that. By the end of each of these workouts I can barely do … Continue reading A week full of distractions
After taking a small break from Insanity after the recovery week, it was time to go back. My knee is not bothering me anymore, it feels a lot better, and all it took was one stretch video. Well, that and resting for the rest of the weekend. It was a small surprise to see that … Continue reading Starting Insanity Month 2
Recovery week it over! In the begging I was happy to have a break from the intense workout but by Thursday I wanted it to be over. It started to get boring because it’s the same video every day. By the fourth day of doing the same thing, I was sick of it, but I … Continue reading I need a break after Recovery Week
This is for my fellow epilepsy warriors, just in case you didn’t know, like me, People with epilepsy are at higher risk than other people for developing osteoporosis and fractures. The Epilepsy Foundation also mentions that women have a higher risk of developing osteoporosis (and therefore broken bones) than men and people on multiple antiseizure … Continue reading Epilepsy and Osteoporosis
